Death Becomes Her

When the news broke that General Hospital was bringing back Kelly Thiebaud this summer, we all had one question, right? How? The actress had been killed off as Dr. Britt Westbourne back in 2023. Well, it turns out dropping her back into Port Charles isn’t an unsolvable problem at all. Just look at the many ways the fan favorite could be returned to the land of the living.

Mother Knows Best

Dr. Liesl Obrecht sobbed as daughter Britt died in her arms after being slashed by Heather Webber with a poisoned hook. Obrecht later even whispered a message in Britt’s ear to take to her late brother, Nathan West. But after Liesl’s tears dried, she could have remembered that she is a genius and come up with a way to cheat death and revive her daughter.

Psych

It certainly looked to us like Britt was really, most sincerely dead. But who’s to say that she wasn’t faking it so as to avoid some threat that, unbeknownst to us, she was under? It would have to have been an extreme danger for Britt to have put her mother through so much grief, but considering her years of pot-stirring, we could see her having made a scary enough enemy to prompt such a desperate measure. Maybe old flame Jason Morgan can protect her now that he, too, is back from the dead?

Snap, Crackle, Papa

Port Charles has been sleeping easier thinking that Britt’s pop, the nefarious Cesar Faison, is deceased. But he’s been known to just play dead really, really well. We wouldn’t put it past him to have orchestrated Britt’s “death” in air quotes in order to force some daddy/daughter bonding time. Heck, we wouldn’t be surprised if Faison was holding son Nathan captive as well.

The ‘Prof’ Is in the Pudding

New Port Charles U professor Henry Dalton is obviously hiding something in his lab. Or could it be… someone? Whatever he’s working on in there, we know that it’s big. Perhaps he’s continued the work that All My Children’s David Hayward began with Project Orpheus and is about to reveal Britt as the first individual that he’s successfully raised from the dead.

Seeing Double

They say that everyone has a doppelganger. So, assuming that Britt does, too, a lookalike could be recruited by Brook Lynn Quartermaine as part of her plot to get revenge on Lulu Spencer for spilling the beans about her teenage pregnancy in the worst way possible. (What is that plot, exactly? Good question. Here’s all we know.)

Sister Act

All these years later, we could learn that Britt had a twin sister who was kept from Obrecht by Faison. If Britt 2.0 arrived on the scene and seemed remarkably like the OG, she could assume her role at the hospital and potentially play out the romance that had seemed to be in the cards for Britt and Cody Bell.

Thaw, Shucks!

We know that One Life to Live legend Erika Slezak is joining General Hospital but not who she will be playing. Suppose she is picking up where Constance Towers left off as Helena Cassadine. The villainess could turn out to be no deader than Jason, Lucky Spencer or any of Port Charles’ other zombies — and she could’ve kept grandson Nikolas’ onetime lover Britt alive like she once did Katherine Bell.

Two-for-One Special

However Britt ends up being brought back — and maybe this is just wishful thinking on our part — perhaps she could reveal that, in her time away, she was caring for the also-not-really-dead Spencer Cassadine. Then, not only could she return to Port Charles, but she could bring her old friend with her!
