Charles Barkley Shuts Down Stephen A. Smith’s Presidential Dream: “Come on, stop it!”

Charles Barkley makes strong claim about Stephen A Smith's chances for president | Fox News

In a candid interview on OutKick’s Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich, NBA legend Charles Barkley didn’t hold back when asked about ESPN host Stephen A. Smith potentially running for president:
“Hell no! Come on, stop it.”

While Barkley considers Smith a friend, he was brutally honest in urging him to drop any political ambitions. According to Barkley, Smith’s constant TV appearances might wear thin on viewers.

“He’s already on General Hospital, now he’s going to be on Law & Order. I was just laughing like, ‘Man, you’re doing too much.’”

Barkley warned that overexposure could ruin Smith’s public image and credibility, especially if he were to seriously pursue a political path.

“When you’re everywhere, people stop taking you seriously. And once that happens, it’s too late.”

In contrast, Barkley said he deliberately limits his screen time and commercial appearances, embracing the “less is more” philosophy.

“I don’t want to be on TV all the time. Even I get tired of seeing myself on TV.”

Stephen A. Smith had previously posted on X that he’s “leaving all doors open” when it comes to a presidential run, though he admitted he “hates the thought of being a politician.”

Regardless of Smith’s final decision, Barkley made his stance clear:
“Don’t even think about the White House, Stephen!”
