Mark Zuckerberg’s wife criticizes her husband’s gifts
Meta’s CEO recently revealed that the 2.1-meter-tall statue of his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan, did not receive the expected happy response.
Appearing on the This Past Weekend podcast on April 29 with Theo Von, the Meta founder recounted the moment when his wife, Priscilla Chan, first saw a giant silver and turquoise statue depicting a portrait of herself, Business Insider reported.
Specifically, the 2.1-meter-tall statue of Priscilla Chan in silver and turquoise, unveiled by Zuckerberg last August, has been met with indifference from its owner.
“I don’t think she’s really happy,” Zuckerberg said. He said Priscilla Chan still showed “sympathy” and appreciated the creativity behind the gift. However, the statue does not seem to be “in the right taste” for the billionaire’s wife.

“She didn’t want a statue of herself to be on the lawn in front of the house, which was weird,” Zuckerberg humorously shared.
According to the billionaire who owns an estimated fortune of $184 billion, according to Forbes, the couple is not too fond of lavish dates, instead, Zuckerberg often chooses creativity to bring romance to the relationship.
When sharing the image of the statue on social media, the young billionaire simply said that he was “bringing the Roman tradition, sculpting the statue of his wife, back”. Notably, the statue does not seem to have been made on any special occasions such as birthdays or wedding anniversaries of the couple.
However, the initiator of the project himself also asked himself: “Who wants to have their statue placed in the middle of the yard?”

However, behind the “sculpture gift” is another reason. Zuckerberg is a fan of artist Daniel Arsham, the author known for his style that combines classic and modern.
After finding Arsham to work with, he decided to choose his wife, his college girlfriend, as a role model, “partly because it’s cool”, but mostly because “sculpting himself is crazy”.
“She is the inspiration for all my creative ideas,” Zuckerberg shared.
Earlier in October, the Meta CEO also attracted attention when he showed off a family-style Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, giving to Chan and his three daughters. This project originated when Chan once expressed his desire to have a minivan.
In the latest podcast episode, Zuckerberg also said that he made this car project because he loves cars but doesn’t want to design a supercar to reward himself.
The post about the statue has attracted a lot of discussion and created memes on social networks. Some people speculate that Zuckerberg may have “made a mistake” so he needed a “monumental” statue as an apology. However, the Meta CEO has refuted these speculations. He humorously said that it was the statue that was the “mistake”.
“To atone for bringing the statue in the middle of the field, you will have to wait and see what I have to do next,” he said.

The giant sculpture gift is not the only time Mark Zuckerberg has made his wife “frown”.
In February, the Meta CEO wore a baby blue jumpsuit and performed a dance performance, parodying singer Benson Boone’s outstanding performance at the Grammys, right on stage, as a 40th birthday gift for Chan.
Although somewhat embarrassed, the billionaire’s pink shadow was still comfortable with this strange performance.
High-end fashion brands are actively incorporating literature into their marketing strategies to enhance brand value and attract younger customers. Miu Miu launched the “Summer Reads” campaign by distributing free books on women’s rights in 8 countries, attracting a large number of participants. Previously, many designers such as Fendi’s Kim Jones, Joseph Altuzarra, and Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli drew inspiration from literary works for their collections. The Loewe label also refreshes classics with a fashionable look and sells them at high prices.
