During his press conference on August 13, a reporter asked the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback about this week’s big Swift news. Given his close friendship with , it’s no shock he was in the loop early.

After Swift recorded the “New Heights” episode with Travis and his brother , it looks like Swift hopped on a video call with Brittany.

During a press conference at the Chiefs’ training camp on August 13, Patrick said: “I knew before y’all did, just because they called me after the podcast was done. They didn’t call me, they called Brittany, and I was in the back of the FaceTime.”

As far as Swift deciding to appear on “New Heights,” Patrick said he was “surprised” by her decision.

“I’m obviously super excited. Just knowing Taylor and seeing the process from just a little bit closer of how she makes the albums,” Patrick continued. “It’s going to be amazing because of how much work she puts into it. What better place to announce it than [the] ‘New Heights’ podcast?”

The rumors started up earlier this week that Swift, 25, was going to appear on Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights.” Then, on Monday, August 11, on the “New Heights” Instagram page that she would be appearing on the show.

Hours later, Swift announced her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Swift will discuss the new album on the podcast episode, which Mahomes said gives her a chance to “be herself” and “showcase who she is” while talking about this new record.

“I think people are going to be really excited to watch it tonight,” Patrick continued. “I haven’t seen it yet. I’ve seen a little bit of the clips just like everybody else, but I’ll be tuned in tonight, I think it’s 7 Eastern. I’ll be able to have something to watch here on this night off that I have.”

While we haven’t even seen or heard Taylor discuss this new album yet, Swifties are out there with their thoughts and theories on what it all means.
