Angel Reese Doesn’t Hold Back When Asked If She’d Beat Her Brother Julian in a One-on-One Matchup
Angel Reese has never lacked confidence — on or off the court. Whether she’s dropping double-doubles, commanding media attention, or setting fashion trends courtside, the “Bayou Barbie” brings energy wherever she goes. So when someone asked if she could take her brother, Maryland standout Julian Reese, in a one-on-one game? She didn’t flinch.
“Oh, I’m definitely winning,” Angel said with a smirk during a recent interview. “No doubt about it.”
She didn’t even hesitate.
And if you know anything about the Reese siblings, you know that kind of talk isn’t new — it’s family tradition.
Julian, a 6’9″ forward known for his rim protection and inside dominance at the University of Maryland, might have the size advantage. But Angel, a national champion and WNBA rising star, isn’t buying into the height hype.
“I’ve played against him my whole life,” she added. “He knows I’m tough. I’m faster, more versatile — and I trash-talk better.”
It’s the kind of sibling rivalry that sports fans love. Two elite athletes, raised under the same roof, now both making waves at the highest levels of the game.
But while the friendly jabs are all in fun, there’s real mutual respect beneath the banter.
Julian, for his part, hasn’t stayed silent. When asked about his sister’s bold prediction, he laughed and said, “She’s competitive, no doubt. But she’d have to get through this wingspan first.”
Still, he added: “She’s one of the best players I’ve ever seen. If anyone could beat me, it’d be her.”
The hypothetical matchup has now taken on a life of its own online. Fans are already begging for a live stream.
“ESPN, make it happen,” one user tweeted.
Another posted: “Forget the All-Star Game, I want Reese vs. Reese!”
While there’s no official date for this sibling showdown, both have hinted it could happen — maybe behind closed doors, maybe for charity, maybe even on Instagram Live.
Until then, the debate rages on.
One thing’s for sure: if Angel Reese and Julian Reese ever face off one-on-one, it won’t just be a game — it’ll be a full-blown event.
And if you ask Angel? She already knows how it ends.
“I’m walking off the court with the win,” she said with a grin. “He can rebound for me after.”
