WATCH: “Whoopi Goes Bonkers” after Facing Hilarious Criticism, Loses It Live on Air

In another one of those incidents on ABC’s “The View” that was as frustrating as it was funny, co-host Whoopi Goldberg after then-former President Donald Trump said during a 2024 presidential race rally that “The View” is full of dumb people, a comment he made after Kamala went on the show and managed to flub even softballs tossed her way by the co-hosts.

As background, during a rally shortly after the Kamala appearance on “The View,” the former president said, “As I watch that stupid ‘View,’ where you have these really dumb people. You know, Whoopi Goldberg said, would you participate in a movie? She made some movie on basketball. This is before I ran for politics.”

Continuing, he said, referencing back when Whoopi worked for him as a comedian at a resort in New Jersey, “She said, ‘You’re so great. If you ever ran for president you’d win’ … Politics can do strange things to demented people.” Building on that, he added, “I’m not particularly shy about what I hear … her mouth was so foul. She was so filthy, dirty, disgusting. Half the place left. I said I’d never hire again.”

Goldberg also said, attacking Trump for claiming that she had a “foul” mouth, “I was filthy and stand on that fact. I have always been filthy. And you knew that when you hired me.” Goldberg went on to note that former President Trump hired her four times for work at the resort, snapping, “How dumb are you?”

She also said, referencing the infamous “Access Hollywood” video, “You know how dirty I wasn’t? I never grabbed anybody by their genitalia.” Continuing, she snapped, “There’s a difference between people who assault other people and people who say words that you don’t want little kids saying in the middle of church.”

Sunny Hostin freaked out in response as well. She snapped, attacking him for his supposed “crimes” and “lies,” “Donald Trump. I want to thank you for personally telling so many lies and committing so many alleged crimes and providing us with material on a daily basis. You help us do our jobs and I’m so appreciative.”

Predictably, Kamala was utterly roasted on X (formerly Twitter). One poster on the platform, for example, wrote that Whoopi had gone “bonkers” over the comment, writing, “Whoopi Goldberg goes bonkers because Trump called her dumb and called out how filthy she is then she admits it.”

Similarly, conservative commentator Gunther Eagleman wrote, “If they didn’t have Trump they wouldn’t have anything at all. Truly infected with TDS.” Replying, conservative X personality Collin Rugg wrote, “Who said Trump wasn’t creating jobs? The View would be out of business if it wasn’t for him.”

Another commenter torched “The View,” noting that all it seems to do is rant about Trump. That poster said, “Trump is all they talk about. I hate that show and have no clue how it even stays on the air. I don’t watch it…but I will be sure to tune in on Nov 6th to watch their melt downs. It will be GLORIOUS!! Must see TV!! 🍿 👀”
