Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tried to get a job on ABC’s “The View” but reportedly never got a call back.

Jean-Pierre has been pondering her future intentions since stepping down from the podium. On Wednesday, she announced that she is leaving the Democratic Party and will be publishing a new book titled “Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside Party Lines,” which will be released in October.

Former officials from former President Joe Biden’s administration told Politico that Jean-Pierre had hoped to be a co-host on “The View,” but no such chance arose, Politico reported.

While looking for a new position, Jean-Pierre allegedly flew to New York to appear on “The View” and was the focus of numerous stories.

In the book, Jean-Pierre stated that she is quitting the Democratic Party because of their “betrayal” of Biden, as they called on him to withdraw from the campaign in the summer before the 2024 election. She stated in a video on Wednesday that Americans should “think outside of our boxes” and stop being “so partisan.”

Reporters who covered the Biden White House are stunned that former press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre left the Democratic Party to write a new book in a “desperate” bid to relaunch her career.

Jean-Pierre’s former staffers offered withering criticism of what they see as an opportunistic grift.

“She made a joke about being an independent last year and now it’s a book. All ideas are monetary — even the dumb ones,” said one of the former staffers.

Caitlin Legacki, a Democratic strategist who worked in the Commerce Department’s communications office during Biden’s tenure, also questioned the book’s apparent premise.

“Kamala Harris and the entire Biden/Harris campaign did hero’s work to avoid losing 400 electoral votes and giving Republicans a supermajority in Congress, which is what would have happened if he stayed on the ticket. It’s more productive to focus on that, and thank Biden for doing the responsible thing by stepping aside, than it is to pretend this was an unwarranted act of betrayal,” Legacki told Politico.

KJP was widely mocked last month when she reflected on the “shocking” nature of Democratic Party leaders turning against then-President Joe Biden, ultimately pressuring him to step aside from the race.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Institute of Politics at Harvard University, Jean-Pierre was asked to share insights into the challenges she faced during the three weeks following the debate, leading up to Biden’s decision to step down, as well as whether he should have run for reelection in the first place.

“He was the President of the United States at the time, he was the leader of the Democratic Party. It was truly his decision to make on what he wanted to do, and I supported that 100%. Whatever it was, I was going to support that 100%,” she responded. “Because he had the right to, as the leader of the Democratic Party coming out of a pretty successful midterm. There was supposed to be a red wave, there wasn’t a red wave.”

The primary challenge during that three-week period, she stated, arose from other factions within the Democratic Party itself.

“I… look, personally, I think what was the toughest thing to see in the three weeks was there was a disconnect for me [in] what was happening with leadership in the Democratic Party and how it was truly, as my former colleague, communications director Ben Labolt said, it was a firing squad,” Jean-Pierre continued.

“I had never seen anything like it before. I had never seen a party do that in the way that they did, and it was hurtful and sad to see that happening,” the former White House press secretary added. “A firing squad around a person who I believe was a true patriot, a person who I believe did everything that he can for this country. A person who I believe, as I mentioned before, has done more in one term than most presidents had done in two terms, historical things, and I was shocked by what I was seeing.”
