NEW YORK — The culture war between Hollywood and conservative media has reached yet another boiling point, as Fox News personalities have launched a fiery, full-blown takedown of ‘The View’ co-host Whoopi Goldberg, branding her latest comments about Iranian women and Black Americans as “one of the most racist things ever said on daytime television.”

In what is now being described as a “cultural bombshell”, Goldberg’s on-air statement — comparing the oppression of Black Americans to the current struggles of Iranian women — has triggered widespread outrage, particularly from Fox News anchors and commentators, who are calling for ABC to issue an apology — or face a boycott.

FOX NEWS STRIKES BACK: “SHE WENT TOO FAR THIS TIME”

In a searing segment aired on Hannity, political commentator Tomi Lahren called Goldberg’s comments “disgusting, historically inaccurate, and racially inflammatory.”

“This wasn’t empathy. This was emotional propaganda, and frankly, it’s as racist as anything we’ve ever heard on television,” said Lahren.
“She took two completely different cultural realities and weaponized them for applause.”

Another Fox host added, “This isn’t about justice or activism — this is radical revisionism from someone who should know better.

 WHAT DID WHOOPI SAY?

The controversy began during Monday’s live broadcast of The View, where a panel discussion on global women’s rights quickly turned into a firestorm. Goldberg, in an impassioned monologue, said:

“When we talk about women in Iran being forced into silence, let’s not forget — Black women in America have been silenced for centuries in a different kind of cage.

The audience applauded, but critics outside the studio were far less impressed.

 RIGHT-WING BACKLASH INTENSIFIES

Within hours, conservative commentators had clipped the segment and shared it across social media with the hashtag #WhoopiOutOfLine, which quickly began trending. Calls for Goldberg’s suspension flooded Fox broadcasts.

On The Ingraham Angle, guest panelist Mark Levin fumed:

“It’s race-baiting at its worst. She’s creating false equivalence to inflame division.”

DEFENSE FROM THE LEFT: “WHOOPI SPOKE TRUTH TO POWER”

Meanwhile, supporters of Goldberg argue that her statement was intellectually honest and emotionally valid, pointing out that the intersection of race and gender oppression is a global issue — one that deserves comparison.

Ava DuVernay tweeted:

“They’re outraged because she connected the dots they refuse to see.”

THE ABC DILEMMA: TO CENSOR OR TO STAND?

Insiders at ABC are said to be “deeply divided” on whether to issue an apology or stand behind Goldberg. One anonymous executive told a source:

“We’re used to Whoopi being provocative. But this time, the blowback is cutting deeper and coming faster.

 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

As the media circus spins, Goldberg remains silent, neither doubling down nor walking back her comments. But with mounting pressure from advertisers and network brass, a forced apology or sudden suspension may be looming.

In a media landscape where outrage fuels ratings, Whoopi may have just crossed a line — or drawn a new one.
