NEW YORK CITY — In a moment so explosive, so unexpected, that ABC producers were forced to cut to emergency commercial mid-show, The View host Whoopi Goldberg reportedly suffered a full-blown breakdown backstage, according to three independent sources with direct knowledge of the incident.

“She was shouting. Crying. Shaking,” said one studio crew member. “Something snapped.”

 “SHE CAN’T DO THIS ANYMORE”

The drama started just 14 minutes into the live broadcast, when a routine discussion on politics took a dark turn. Goldberg, who had already issued two public apologies earlier this week, suddenly slammed her cue cards to the table, said “I’m done,” and stormed off camera — live.

The broadcast immediately cut to commercial. What happened off-camera, however, was far more disturbing.

“There’s panic. They’re debating whether to suspend her again, or ask her to resign quietly,” the source said.
“No one thought it would unravel this fast.”

 CO-HOSTS ORDERED NOT TO SPEAK

Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines have reportedly been instructed by legal to avoid commenting, even off the record. One anonymous writer on the show described the mood backstage as “funeral-like.”

“Everyone’s whispering. People are deleting texts. ABC wants to contain this.”

Some insiders believe the final straw came from a guest producer leaking negative press, while others say ratings pressure and internal power struggles pushed Goldberg to a breaking point.
