The WNBA team Atlanta Dream has announced a major multi-year partnership with Cash App, the leading financial services platform.
As part of the brand deal, the Cash App logo will appear on Dream’s jerseys and be scattered throughout the Gateway Center Arena. That is just the tip of the iceberg.
On Wednesday, the Dream and Cash App unveiled a first-of-its-kind WNBA statement court that was designed to empower female athletes.
Designed in partnership with woman-owned streetwear brand Playa Society, the court speaks volumes with “Pay Some Respect to Women’s Sports” emblazoned across the center court.

It will certainly be seen by possibly thousands of people since it will be displayed for the Dream’s home opener vs the Indiana Fever on May 22 in State Farm Arena. With Caitlin Clark in the house, it will be hard to miss.
According to the WNBA, the empowerment statement will be featured on the center court, on the team practice jerseys, and available for purchase for fans.
“We are so excited to welcome Cash App as an Official Financial Services Partner of the Atlanta Dream,” said Atlanta Dream President and Chief Operating Officer Morgan Shaw Parker.
“Cash App shares our innovative mindset to empower girls and women through sport and create economic opportunities in our community. The energy and creativity they have brought to this collaboration has been tremendous and we look forward to unveiling additional programming prior to the season.”

“WNBA really needs to drop the chip on their shoulder attitude if they want more people to become fans. Whenever you turn on the WNBA, you feel like you are shamed for not watching it beforehand, instead of feeling welcomed. So much toxicness in general with the WNBA,” a second fan stated.

“Don’t tell me what to do. Aggressive demands is not good marketing. How about the women’s basketball establishment showing some respect for Caitlin Clark instead of downplaying her?” a third fan wrote.

“This is entertainment. We choose what we enjoy and want to watch. I don’t enjoy women’s basketball. I don’t denigrate it either. Good luck to the WNBA. But I feel like this is trying to shame people who don’t watch. It’s divisive in nature, and actually bad for business,” one final fan commented.
