Georgia Amoore made history on Monday night, ruling over both basketball and fashion. She was drafted sixth overall by the Washington Mystics in the 2025 WNBA. However, she didn’t just grab attention in the basketball fraternity but also slayed with a custom outfit designed by the renowned nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook.

The Denver Nugget point guard showcases his exceptional fashion sense. Collaborating with Amoore to design her special outfit, they both stole the show. This duo traded over several months, which resulted in the skirt and the cropped blazer from Westbrook’s own brand.

This is probably the very first time a professional athlete designed for another athlete for their draft night attire.

According to the report, Vogue stated that the collaboration began with a virtual Zoom call meeting last year and switched to a creative flow built on mutual respect.

“He was very active in the process,” Amoore said. “And I can’t thank that enough because even the little bits of advice he’s given me along the way, you know, to have a contact like that now, as someone I can try and lean on, or lean into.”

Westbrook’s dedication to his work is impressive. He spent hours with Amoore at her hotel on draft day to improve the look, which shows his perfection at work. After her selection, when she was asked how she felt having Westbrook as her stylist for the night, Amoore Said, “I can’t find the word, so if you can, help me.”

After WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert announced Amoore’s selection, Westbrook stood and gave her applause, a gesture that showed a project that had developed a personal significance for him. The stylish show instantly grabbed the attention of social media and fans from both the WNBA and the NBA.

Moreover, the collaboration was not just about the blazer. Both the players also launched a small collection of clothing under the Honor the Gift level, which includes a thick cotton t-shirt that says “INNER CITY,” Westbrook’s birth year, 1988, and the words “honor women.”

This T-shirt comes in Kentucky blue, white, and black. The money made out of the collections will go to Play Like a Girl!, a charity organization dedicated to empowering young women to get into science, technology, engineering, and math fields through sports-based programs, where men usually dominate.

“While Georgia’s draft outfit is this aspirational, one-of-a-kind look,” Westbrook stated in Vogue. “The T-shirts are the attainable element of our collaboration. They’re how fans can connect with this moment and carry this message forward.”- Westbrook

For Amoore, the night was not just getting dressed. It was the start of something big: social work. “It’s amazing and I think it’s the start,” Amoore said. “You’re gonna see this happen more often, and I think it’s just a blessing to be the first one to do it.”
