WNBA fans have already had enough of Dave Portnoy.
Portnoy was on hand to watch the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky open the 2025 season. The game was controversial, with the Clark push on Angel and the alleged racial comments from fans.
After the contest, Portnoy accused the WNBA of “sh-ting” on Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever after they launched an investigation into alleged racist claims against Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese during their recent match.
The Barstool Sports founder, who was at the game, said in a video rant that the racist claims were “bullsh-t” and a mere internet rumor, which the league is now lending “credence” to with their probe.
Dave Portnoy also added that the Fever crowd at the game was “nice” and made up of “little girls, families, ladies.”
“Can’t believe I’m making this video,” Portnoy said in a rant on social media.
“Today I see online, starting last night, just salty trolls, and I don’t even know actually if they’re just Chicago Sky fans, I think they’re just trolls. They’re people who just hate Caitlin Clark,” Portnoy said.
He added, “They’re trolls and they’re like, ‘Of course the Indiana Fever are making monkey sounds and other racist sounds at Angel Reese,’ which is total garbage, totally made up.”
Because he has been so vocal about this and his other actions in the past, some WNBA fans are now calling for him to be ousted forever.
Somebody created a petition, “Ban Dave Portnoy from WNBA games!!!” to ensure he is never at another game.
The petition lays out the issue that “Portnoy has inserted himself into this space, where he has disrespected the talented women of this league. For years, he has been harassing Angel Reese, a Black woman, using his online platform.”
“Recently, he came to a WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky. He has previously been caught saying the N word on video along with other racist remarks,” the petition added.
As of this writing, the petition has over 1,000 supporters.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy loves Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and making huge bets.
His latest gamble on Clark’s performance went viral as he wagered $25K that Clark would come out with a triple-double in the Fever’s season opener against the Chicago Sky.
His risk was worth the reward, as Clark scored 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in a 93-58 blowout victory over the Sky.
Portnoy won $350,000.
