Angel Reese has yet another milestone. The Chicago Sky star made significant WNBA history in her team’s loss to the Phoenix Mercury.
Prior to Tuesday’s game between the Chicago Sky and Phoenix Mercury, the WNBA provided an update on its investigation into alleged behavior at Gainbridge Fieldhouse when the team took on the Indiana Fever.
The WNBA announced it could not substantiate any reports of racism.
“We have investigated the report of racist fan behavior in the vicinity of the court,” the league said in a statement.
“Based on information gathered to date, including from relevant fans, team and arena staff, as well as audio and video review of the game, we have not substantiated it.
“The WNBA is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for everyone and will continue to be vigilant in enforcing our fan code of conduct.”
The investigation was launched over claims of alleged hateful comments made inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Fever. Hateful comments to Sky forward Angel Reese were the center of the investigation.
Angel Reese said “there’s no place in this league” for racism and discrimination and “obviously in the moment it’s hard to hear” comments being made toward her during the game.
On Tuesday night, Reese got back to action as she poured in 13 points and 15 rebounds in a 94-89 loss to the Mercury.
With the double-double she posted against the Mercury, Reese became the fastest player in WNBA history to accumulate 500 points and 500 rebounds in just 38 games.

After an investigation, the WNBA found no substantial evidence of alleged racist fan behavior toward Sky star Angel Reese.
Reese was asked earlier this month if she had been able to provide the WNBA with details about the incident. She did not offer specifics on whether she had done so, saying, “That’s not a me question.”
During the Chicago Sky’s postgame press conference on Tuesday night after a 94-89 loss to the Phoenix Mercury, Sky star Angel Reese was not questioned about the WNBA investigation.
It seems she is ready to move on from it.
