The WNBA needs its biggest draw back on the court.

Caitlin Clark has been out since May 24 after she suffered a left quad strain during the Indiana Fever’s game against the New York Liberty.

Clark has missed the last five games due to injury and the TV ratings have taken a massive hit.

USA Today has reported that nationally televised games are down 55 percent since Clark’s absence.

A worrisome trend.

And the face of FS1, Colin Cowherd, issued a warning to the rest of the league and how they should be treating its star player.

“WNBA television ratings down more than 50 percent since Caitlin Clark’s injury,” Cowherd said on The Herd.

“It’s a reminder, ladies of the WNBA, she is the rising tide.

“This is not Fever games just down, this is league ratings, since she got hurt, down 55 percent.

“She is essentially the sun at the beach.

“If she’s not out, nobody else is…

“Be nice, WNBA players, to the lady that currently has her leg up because she’s giving the league a leg up.”

There’s no denying that Clark is already the WNBA’s biggest star in only her second season in the league.

She is a national attraction.

And her absence is now being felt across the league.

Clark has spent some of her time away by attending Indiana Pacers home playoff games.

In fact, the Pacers are 8-0 with Clark in attendance.

That includes a Finals win on Wednesday night that gave the Pacers a 2-1 series lead against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Fever and the WNBA are patiently awaiting Clark’s return.

As if it wasn’t clear before, she is box office personified.

Just look at the ratings.
