CBS New York Did Caitlin Clark Dirty After Controversial Ending To Fever-Liberty Game

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever felt hard done by following a heartbreaking loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday.

The Fever suffered their second defeat of the new WNBA season to split the first four games 2-2 as they were unable to overcome some late-game misfortune.

Scores were tied 88-88 with seconds to go when Sabrina Ionescu drew a foul to earn herself two shots from the charity stripe.

The Gainbridge Fieldhouse crowd did not agree with the call as it appeared that Ionescu initiated the contact, but Indiana still had an opportunity to win the game or at least tie it before the clock expired.

They went to Clark, who was unable to get a shot off as Natasha Cloud stripped the ball off her to seal a 90-88 win for New York.

Caitlin Clark Accused Of “Trying To Sell It”

The final play drew even more ire, with Clark also visibly unhappy and going after the refs. However, replays suggested that she was trying to buy a foul… at least that’s how CBS’s Steve Overmyer saw it.

“Clark tried to sell it like she got hit by a sniper, but there was no foul,” he said while breaking down the end of the game.

Of course, Caitlin Clark would differ as she was clearly upset with the way the referees handled the final moments.
