Whoopi Goldberg Explodes on Live TV: “This Is 2025 — We’re Not the Women of the 1950s!”

(The View Host Slams Haters, Defends DEI, and Doubles Down on Staying Power)

Whoopi Goldberg had a fiery message for her critics — and she didn’t hold back.

During Tuesday’s (March 4) episode of The View, the Oscar-winning actress and longtime co-host responded to growing attacks against the show’s panel and its values with one clear warning: They’re not going anywhere.

The broadcast kicked off with heated discussion about Donald Trump’s upcoming address before a joint session of Congress. The co-hosts debated what Democratic lawmakers should say — or not say — in response to the former president’s continued political dominance.

But things got even spicier as The View welcomed ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith, who unleashed his signature takes on what the Democratic Party needs to do to win in 2024. And in the final segment, Karine Jean-Pierre, former White House Press Secretary, joined the table to reflect on the post-debate firestorm surrounding President Joe Biden — and the increasing attacks on diversity in politics.

Where Is Whoopi On 'The View'? Is Whoopi Goldberg Still On 'The View'?

“You’re Gonna Wake Up and We’ll Still Be Here”

When cohost Sunny Hostin brought up how Jean-Pierre has been labeled a “DEI hire” by right-wing critics — despite her Ivy League education, multilingual fluency, and impressive political résumé — Jean-Pierre didn’t flinch.

“The fact that they focus on me so much, I probably should wear it as a badge of honor,” she said, before delivering a passionate defense of diversity. “DEI didn’t cause a plane crash in D.C. DEI isn’t why prices are rising. Diversity is our strength. Inclusion is what makes America better.”

Her words clearly struck a chord with Whoopi, who chimed in with her own mic-drop moment.

“We are not our great-grandparents. We are not our grandparents. We are of 2025. We are not the women of the 1950s. This is 2025, and we’re not going anywhere.”

Pointing around the table to cohosts Hostin, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, Goldberg doubled down:

“All these women — whether we agree all the time or not — we are here to stay. We’re not going anywhere. And you can call it any number of letters you want to. You’re gonna wake up, and we’re still going to be here.”

A Show That Refuses to Back Down

The View has never been shy about controversy, but as political tensions spike and conversations about “wokeness” continue to polarize the country, the women at the table are making it clear: they won’t be intimidated.

And if Tuesday’s episode is any indication, Whoopi Goldberg and her cohosts are more emboldened than ever — ready to speak their minds, defend their values, and keep showing up no matter who tries to silence them.

Because, as Goldberg said loud and clear: “This is 2025 — and we’re not going anywhere.”
