Meet Karoline Leavitt: The Youngest White House Press Secretary in U.S. History — And Trump’s Fiercest Defender

At just 27 years old, Karoline Leavitt is set to become the youngest White House Press Secretary in American history — and she’s already proven she’s not afraid to take the podium and fight.

President-elect Donald Trump officially announced Leavitt’s appointment on November 15, calling her “smart, tough, and an exceptional communicator.”

“I have total confidence that Karoline will do an outstanding job delivering our message to the American people as we make America great again,” Trump declared.

From Small-Town Roots to the White House

Born August 24, 1997, in Atkinson, New Hampshire, Leavitt is the daughter of small business owners who run an ice cream shop and a used truck dealership in nearby Plaistow. After earning her degree in communications and political science from Saint Anselm College, she interned at the White House and quickly climbed the ranks.

During Trump’s first term, she worked as Assistant Press Secretary under Kayleigh McEnany. After the administration ended in 2021, she served as Communications Director for GOP Congresswoman Elise Stefanik before making a bold move: running for Congress herself.

In 2022, Leavitt won the GOP primary in New Hampshire’s 1st District, becoming the second Gen Z candidate in history to do so. Though she lost the general election to Democrat Chris Pappas, her campaign made national headlines — and caught Trump’s attention.

“She’s got tremendous energy and intelligence,” Trump said at the time, praising her despite not endorsing anyone in the GOP primary.

Back in the Spotlight — and Back to Work 4 Days After Giving Birth

Leavitt became a regular face on TV as the national spokeswoman for Trump’s 2024 campaign, fiercely defending him in high-profile interviews and across conservative media.

She accompanied Trump on the road throughout his campaign — even showing up at court in Manhattan as he faced charges related to hush-money payments to a former adult film star.

But perhaps her most striking display of dedication came in July 2024. Just days after giving birth to her son, Leavitt was watching Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when gunshots rang out in an assassination attempt on the former president.

“I looked at my husband and said, ‘I guess I have to go back to work now,’” she recalled.

Despite a difficult labor and recovery, Leavitt returned to the campaign trail just four days after giving birth, delivering a fiery speech and vowing to finish the fight alongside Trump.

Trump personally called her from the campaign trail to check in on her postpartum recovery — and even passed the phone to Melania. “We talked about motherhood,” Leavitt said. “They told me about Barron, and President Trump joked, ‘We had a little boy once too, but he’s not so little anymore!’”Karoline Leavitt (phải) đứng cạnh ông Donald Trump trong bức ảnh đăng hồi tháng 1. Trusted by Trump, Respected by His Team

Leavitt’s return marked her as one of Trump’s most committed loyalists — a quality that insiders say earned her the prestigious White House role.

“Karoline is one of the President-elect’s most trusted allies,” said Sebastian Gorka, a former Trump adviser. “You can see that trust in the way she’s delivered some of the most important announcements of the new administration.”

Her appointment breaks the record previously held by Ronald Ziegler, who served as Richard Nixon’s press secretary at age 29.

Now, at 27, with a newborn son and a nation divided, Karoline Leavitt is stepping onto the biggest communications stage in the world — ready to speak for the most controversial president in modern history.

And she’s doing it with the same grit and drive that’s defined her entire career.
